I bought my first afghan hound in 1974, Arkan Natara of Amadan. Tara was the love of my life. She was sired by CH Bondor Azim Khan, out of Huwadha Sheba.
She did well in the showring in younger classes, but dropped her coat owing to cystic ovaries.
She was brought out at seven years old, winning 1st Limit bitch under Harry Jordan at Paignton CH show and 4th limit bitch under George Masters at the Scottish Afghan CH show.
Caz, (Shaybani Khushal Khan) was the son of Tara's only mating in March 1976, to CH Sacheverell Zukwala. He was well-placed in the showring, but preferred to stay at home.
Khaydi (Shaybani Khadija Khanum), was sister to Caz. She also had many placings in large classes.
Shane ( Asheef Khasson of Shaybani) was born in 1979, sired by Caz and out of Seolfer Yobel Kona.
He enjoyed the showring and excelled in movement, winning him 1st placings at CH shows and open show BOB. He won many awards, including gaining his stud book number in 1982.

Poppy (Mistrelyn Solstice of Shaybani) was the daughter of Shaybani Kara of Mistrelyn (sister to Caz and Khaydi). and sired by CH Dominique Rajendea. She was born in January, 1979.
Poppy loved to show and did extremely well in the ring. She won PBIS at the Scottish afghan CH show under George Masters at 9 months old. She also went 2nd at Crufts in the puppy class, and won several 1sts in puppy and junior at CH shows, and several open show BOB. She gained 32 points for her Junior Warrant.
Tragically, Poppy broke her leg badly at just 19 months old and was unable to show again.

Lizzie ( Shaybani Acaena) was the daughter of Poppy, born in 1985 and sired by Karachi Khan.
Lizzie was not enamoured with the show ring, although she did win several awards, particularly when she raised her tail.
She won 2nd limit bitch in 1988 so gaining her studbook number.
